Gameranger was the official multiplayer service for the mac version of age of empires ii, and microsoft now also officially recommends gameranger as a replacement for the original pc age of empires ii service, msn gaming zone, that closed down in june 2006.. For the regular aoc, there is the forgotten empires mod which is free. and for the hd version there is the forgotten which is not free. so to get the forgotten content you need to buy the extra addon on the hd edition..
